Theraport: Teleporting the therapist – reaching out to the unreachable children
Oslo University Hospital
ABOUT THE PROJECT
The project is concerned with creating services and interventions in the natural context of young patients. The mail target groups are children who struggle with autism spectrum disorders, social phobia, severe anxiety or ME/CFS and who may spend lengthy periods at home, isolated from school, friends and community. These children often resist therapeutic contact due to their mental problems and this has been voiced by patient organizations and therapists.
The goal of Theraport is to develop and test technology and therapeutic methods for reaching children that would otherwise be prevented from therapeutic interventions and social support. The project is concerned both with developing and testing the solution as well as with adjusting and developing relevant therapeutic methodology that is appropriate for mixed reality solutions.
