Dr. Henrik Brun brings TruHeart to Guyana
This fall, project manager of TruHeart Dr. Henrik Brun, visited Guyana for one week, as part of his involvement in The International Children’s Heart Foundation.
Guyana, a developing nation in South America, has an infant mortality rate of 22 per 1000 live birth. As the country does not have any programs for congenital heart disease (CHD) or paediatric critical care programs, The International Children's Heart Foundation (ICHF), undertook the challenge of establishing a congenital heart disease program in Guyana.
ICHF is a non-governmental organization with 23 years of experience providing congenital cardiac surgery services to the developing world utilising the voluntary services of international expertise, such as Dr. Brun.
