The history of HoloCare begins in 2016 when Sopra Steria in Oslo got the Microsoft HoloLens. The project incubation started already 48 hours after the arrival of the HoloLens. After receiving external funding from the regional norwegian health authorties (Helse Sør-Øst), Sopra Steria and the Intervention Centre at Oslo University Hospital created a number of prototypes for medical applications. In 2017, HoloCare was established.
Since its establishment, HoloCare has launched several applications and received a number of awards such as the Microsoft Global Health Innovation Award in 2017 and the eHealth Award in Norway. In 2018, HoloCare and the Sopra Steria Group became the first official Microsoft HoloLens Partner in Norway and implemented a global commercial solution on the Azure cloud platform. The HoloCare Health Platform will be launched in 2019. Autumn 2019, HoloCare will also be established as a company to provide market-ready solutions.
